HBO announced a new  Harry Potter TV showearlier this year, and while we already can't wait to see it, the original cast of the wizarding world movies will always have a special place in our hearts. From becoming blockbuster movie stars to settling down with a family, the cast of the original franchise is certainly all grown up - but what are they up to nowadays? Find out here…

Daniel Radcliffe - Harry Potter

Daniel has had a fascinating career since playing the title role in the franchise, with a hugely impressive array of TV shows, movies and theatre productions under his belt, including The Lost City, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and Merrily We Roll Along.

He is in a relationship with fellow actor Erin Darke, who he met while filming Kill Your Darlings, and the pair welcomed a baby boy in April this year.

Emma Watson - Hermione Granger

Since Harry Potter, Emma has stuck to mostly starring in movies, and has played Belle in the live-action Beauty in the Beast, Meg in Little Women and Mae in the Netflix movie The Circle. She is also a keen activist, and recently revealed that she has started a gin company with her brother. Despite being romantically linked to American businessman Leo Robinton and, more recently, Philip Green’s son Brandon, she keeps her personal life very private.

Rupert Grint - Ron Weasley

Rupert has had a brilliant TV and film career since playing Ron, and has starred in shows including Apple TV+’s Servant, Knock at the Cabin and The ABC Murders. He is in a relationship with fellow actor Georgia Groome, and the pair share a daughter, three-year-old Wednesday.

Tom Felton - Draco Malfoy

After Harry Potter, Tom went on to star in A United Kingdom, Ophelia, A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting and perhaps most notably in the hit CW show, The Flash. It has been rumoured that Tom may return to the Harry Potter universe for the HBO miniseries, this time playing Draco’s father, Lucius Malfoy.

Oliver and James Phelps - Fred and George Weasley

Our favourite red-headed twins (though brunette in real life) have gone on to enjoy plenty of acting roles, and also launched their own podcast, Normal Not Normal, where they interview celebrity guests (with plenty of Harry Potter castmates popping in to say hello)! James tied the knot with Annika Ostle in 2016, and the pair share two dogs, Jason and Tonto. Meanwhile, Oliver shares two daughters, Autumn and Emilia, with his wife, Katy Humpage. The pair are also keen golfers.

Bonnie Wright - Ginny Weasley

Since playing Ron’s little sister and Harry’s one true love Ginny, Bonnie has starred in several productions but has been behind the scenes as well. She has her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and has directed several projects including Separate We Come, Separate We Go, Know Thyself and Medusa’s Ankles. She was previously engaged to Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower before they split in 2012, and has since tied the knot with her long-term partner, Andrew Lococo. In April 2023, the couple revealed that they are expecting their first child together.

Evanna Lynch - Luna Lovegood

Evanna has had a hugely busy time since completing the Harry Potter movies. The star has launched several podcasts, including the Just Being podcast, as well as a cruelty-free cosmetics brand, Kinder Beauty Box. She released a memoir,  The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting: The Tragedy and Glory of Growing Up – A Memoir, in 2021, and has appeared in films, TV shows and plays, her most recent being the 2023 production of Under the Black Rock.

Matthew Lewis - Neville Longbottom

Chances are that Neville himself Matthew Lewis is probably in your favourite TV show! The actor has gone on to star in plenty of British dramas including Death in Paradise, Happy Valley, Ripper Street and All Creatures Great and Small. The actor is married to VIP event manager Angela Jones, with the pair first meeting at a Harry Potter event at Universal Orlando.

Alfred Enoch - Dean Thomas

Ron and Harry’s dorm mate has gone on to break America by starring in some huge shows - most notably at the main role in How to Get Away with Murder as Wes. He went on to star in Trust Me and Troy: Fall of a City, and is set to star in the upcoming novel adaptation, The Couple Next Door.

Devon Murray - Seamus Finnegan

Seamus is a dad! The actor welcomed a son, Cooper, with his fiancé Shannon in early 2021. The star has appeared in a few projects since Harry Potter, and his Instagram is filled with snaps of family life - including a pet horse named Hedwig!

Robert Pattinson - Cedric Diggory

Robert hasn’t done much since playing our favourite Hufflepuff in Harry Potter… just kidding. Robert has gone on to worldwide stardom in the hit Twilight Saga, and has also starred in The Lighthouse, Tenet and The King. He most recently portrayed Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Batman, which has two sequels planned.

Afshan Azad - Padma Patil

Afshan has gone on to become an amazing Instagram influencer with over 170,000 followers. The mother-of-one often shares snaps of her beauty tips as well as family life with her husband, Nabil Kazi, and their daughter.

Shefali Chowdhury - Parvati Patil

Since Harry Potter, Shefali has appeared in Freida, Jane and The Possibility of Impossible Dreams. She also keeps in touch with her movie twin, Afshan, with the star revealing that the pair are still good pals.

Jessie Cave - Lavender Brown

Jessie is now a mother of four and is in a relationship with comedian Alfie Brown. The pair’s relationship inspired Jessie’s comedy show I Loved Her and Sunrise. As well as her personal projects, including a fashion range and a podcast with her sister, Jessie has starred in shows including Black Mirror and The Baby, and even appeared in an episode of Call the Midwife!

Katie Leung - Cho Chang

Much like Matthew, the chances are that you’ve seen Katie in recent years in plenty of British dramas including Roadkill and The Nest. The actress has also published an essay, Getting into Character, and welcomed a baby boy, Wolf, in October 2022. She most recently starred in the TV series The Chemistry of Death.

Harry Melling - Dudley Dursley

Since playing Harry’s terrible cousin Dudley, Harry has gone on to play some seriously villainous roles, including Steven Merrick in The Old Guard and Sysselman in His Dark Materials. Fans might also recognise him as Harmon’s lovelorn chess adversary Harry Beltik in The Queen’s Gambit. He most recently starred opposite Christian Bale in The Pale Blue Eye as Edgar Allan Poe.
