Some good news for 2021: Chanel has hired Grace Kelly's granddaughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, as its new ambassador.

Chanel's official Instagram channel celebrated Casiraghi's new role and revealed, "She will embody the campaign for the Spring-Summer 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection and will be unveiling, along with the House of CHANEL and Virginie Viard, 'Les Rendez-vous littéraires rue Cambon' [Literary rendezvous at rue Cambon], a project perpetuating Gabrielle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld’s unconditional love for literature."

The literary salons will be held monthly by Casiraghi, "in Coco Chanel's private apartments above the brand's flagship boutique, an intimate space still furnished in its period furniture, grey suede-covered couches and elegant Chinese-lacquered walls screens," per People.

In a video announcing the appointment, Casiraghi explained, "It's almost as if I was born with Chanel. I think of photos of my mom, when she was pregnant with me. Wonderful photos by Karl Lagerfeld, with her wearing Chanel." Kelly's granddaughter also noted that at her June 2019 wedding to Dimitri Rassam, she wore a strapless Chanel gown, which was "one of Karl's last Haute Couture dresses."

As the granddaughter of a world-renowned style icon, princess, and movie star, it makes sense that Casiraghi would secure a coveted ambassador role with Chanel, especially as she already has such a strong relationship with the brand. While Lagerfeld designed her stunning bridal gown, Chanel's creative director, Viard, made alterations at Casiraghi's wedding dress fittings.
